How We Approach Quoting

Floral wedding arch adorned with pink and white flowers on a dry, mountainous landscape under a cloudy sky. Peaceful and scenic.

Floral quotes can look similar on paper, yet lead to very different results.

That's because the same categories-bouquets, centerpieces, ceremony flowers-can be built in many ways. A design might be lighter and simpler, smaller or larger, fuller or more layered. Both may carry the same name on a proposal, but they won't necessarily look or feel the same way in the space.

When a quote comes in lower, it usually means something has been softened- fewer stems, less volume, simpler construction, or a smaller overall scale. That isn't wrong but it does change the outcome.

This is why wedding quotes can vary.

How we approach quoting at Petals And Stems

Budgets matter- and they are one of the first things we talk about. Understanding your investment range

helps ensure we're aligned from the start and allows us to design thoughtfully within parameters that feel comfortable and realistic.

From there, our quoting process begins with the vision- your vision-and visualizing all the elements of the day. We consider the colours, the season, the location, and how everything will come together in the space.

We look at where each floral piece will live and what it will sit on or be attached to, and how it will read once the room is full and the day is in motion. Scale, proportion, and placement matter deeply to us, because a design needs enough presence to feel intentional- not something that risks getting lost in the moment.

It is also important to us to consider how pieces will move throughout the day. A ceremony arrangement that's meant to be repurposed later needs to be designed with that second placement in mind- it's shape, scale and mechanics all matter. What works beautifully at the front of a ceremony should still feel intentional and complete when it's moved to a reception space, sweetheart table, or entry moment.

While quotes can always be adjusted by making a design smaller or lighter, we're always asking whether that version will still feel right for the space and the vision. Our goal is to ensure the florals feel balanced, cohesive, and fully at home in their setting.

That attention to detail is built into how we quote-so the end result feels effortless, polished and exactly as it should on the day. So while your budget does matter to us, we do not build quotes to just win a booking- they are built to deliver the vision.

That doesn't mean adjustments can't be made- they absolutely can. It simply means that every adjustment comes with intention and honesty, so what's delivered still feels worthy of the day it's meant for.
